Description

Through the Presagis OpenFlight to Unreal tool, you are able to visualize OpenFlight format (.flt) models, terrains, and scenes in Unreal Engine. The tool converts the OpenFlight format to the Datasmith format and makes it available to be imported into Unreal.

OpenFlight is the native file format of Creator and is the de facto standard 3D file format for modeling and simulation. Developed and supported by Presagis, unmatched real-world precision and reliability have made OpenFlight one of the most widely adopted 3D formats in the visual simulation industry. The customizable extension capabilities of the OpenFlight format provide both the common ground for a diverse user community and a mechanism to save and reuse objects or environments for future projects. Developers will enjoy the flexibility, open connectivity, and easy interoperability of OpenFlight, along with advanced real-time functions.

By converting this format into Datasmith for use in Unreal, you are able to leverage scenes that were created using Creator or other content creation applications.

Technical Details

OpenFlight to Unreal allows the conversion of any OpenFlight file (or set of files) to Datasmith for use in Unreal Engine (version 4.24). Designed by Presagis, this tool allows the visualization of OpenFlight content (models and terrains) within Unreal Engine via the Datasmith format.

On top of the OpenFlight To Datasmith converter, the installed package contains an Unreal plugin that will help view the converted Datasmith content once it has been imported into the Unreal Editor.

Samples are included so that you can experiment with the tool.
