Description

Check out the associated course Ray Traced Cinematic Lighting for Interiors on the Epic Dev Community.

This course focuses on ray-traced lighting techniques and how they provide cinematic photorealism in Unreal Engine. By studying this topic from a virtual production cinematography perspective, you’ll learn how to approach lighting with a cinematic workflow and aesthetic in mind.

Discover how to use ray-traced lighting to emulate real-world cinematic lighting principles for two interior scenes: day and night. We’ll explore how this technique has advantages for the virtual production pipeline over traditional baked architecture visualization, enabling increasingly photorealistic previsualization and final animation / beauty pass scenes, combined with a lot of flexibility.

By the end of this course, students will have a newfound confidence in using the various ray-traced lighting techniques Unreal Engine has to offer.
