Description
Download the demo scene here! (Requires Unreal Engine 5 Early Access)
1.3 Update: Now compatible with UE5! No content changes were made.
1.2 Content Update:
Thank you to everyone who purchased the Ancient Temple Asset Pack! I have created a small content update that I hope will help you create even more amazing environments. It adds a new custom material, a new material variation, and three new meshes!
This is an environment asset pack that can be used to create ancient temple scenes or ruins of any kind. It includes a large selection of meshes, high quality unique 4K materials and hand painted decals to help you create realistic and immersive environments.
This set uses vertex painting to achieve detailed effects. The red channel is used for painting a water material and the green channel is used for painting a destroyed stone material. The blue channel is not used and the vertex painting materials do not use height blending. Three of the included tiling materials have vertex painting options, and the three rock meshes can be vertex painted with a water material as well.
This asset pack also comes with a custom “ancient script” decal set, which includes 41 separate decals based on the English alphabet to help you write unique text onto walls or for use as individual symbols.
Two sample scenes with suggested mesh uses and vertex painting ideas are included. The regular scene (not Dark Temple) is slightly different from the gallery images and demo scene (which were rendered in UE5 Early Access) but contains all of the same resources. Documentation is included with notes and tips on how to use the script decals and vertex painting materials.
Most meshes are solid so they can be placed at any angle. Exceptions are the wall lamp, shelf, arch, and stairs meshes. A ReadMe document is included in the project files with links to download the large rock mesh LODs (not included in the main files due to issues with Distance Field AO) and the 4K tiling AO, Curve, Height, and Normal maps if you want to use them to create your own materials.
Please note: The vertex painting master materials use multiple material functions and layers. Vertex painting itself requires adequate mesh tessellation to achieve realistic and controllable results. The resources in this asset pack have been reasonably optimized for performance, but may not be suited for projects with high optimization requirements. If your project requires very low polycounts or high material optimization this asset pack may not be right for you.
Disclaimer: Due to a known engine bug with vertex painting, a warning may be displayed about spending 0.0s repairing painted vertex colors. This warning can be removed by manually re saving the level.
