Description
With this pack you can build out many variations of a fantasy or medieval environment with many variations of meshes and material instances that are all modular.
There’s a few grups of assets separated into foliage or vegetation, stones or rocks, wood assets, house modules and shaders or VFX’s like wind or different types of water.
Each material can have color changed through RGB channels and even some of them have different noise textures.
Flower and trees are customizable and support Runtime Virtual Textures as well as the Landscape Material and some of the meshes because the majority shares the same Master Material. Many preconfigured foliage types are available for easy creation of an environment.
A sky dome with a customized panning material instance can be used to create a fantasy atmosphere.
Vertex painting is enabled for all of the house modules, which can be placed with the snap grid activated for easy creation of custom house blockouts. Vegetation is displaced by the wind.
Open the example map and see how the assets are used, then migrate the folder to your project.
Warning: This project only works for UE 4.27.2 or Higher. But also you need to take a few steps in order for some materials or textures to work:
-First of all go to project settings and enable Runtime Virtual Textures, and Generate Distance Fields, in order for the Landscape Material and the Water Shaders to work.
Then create two RV Textures and set one for the Color and one for the Height ,and set two Runtime Virtual Texture Volumes in your scene, one for the Color and one for the Height. Create a Landscape click on the + button and create two slots of VT. Fill them up with the RV Textures you’ve created at first. Then go to the RVT Volumes and pick the Landscape and click on Set Bounds. Your RVT’s should work now. Sometimes if you mess with the landscape materials the volumes could miss the bounds, just click again on the Set Bounds buttons and you should be fine.
I’m based some of my assets on some other third party assets like the water shader from Rimaye, where I only changed the noise textures and played with the settings, and the main rvt master material I used for trees and stones, which I got it from a stylized station tutorial. Also the waterfall is based on Saralie’s twitter tutorial. For the rest I tried to keep it as original as I could.
