Technical Details

Contains 25 Materials, 23 Material Functions, 114 Textures and a few meshes.

All the textures are 2048×2048 16-bit except for the Text sprite sheets which are 4096×4096 8-bit

16-bit textures have a very unique use case,

more specifically converting height maps into normal maps in real time and sampling UVs from textures directly along with other computational operations, which require a wider bit depth to prevent “stair stepping”

If you intend to just use the textures to represent color, I highly recommend to set compression method to DTX5/DTX1. This effectively limits the texture to 8-bit which will be less VRAM intensive.

Normal maps that use the alpha channel need to be biased with -0.5 and scaled at 2.0, this is shown in all the materials that use channel packed normal maps.

This step would be done if the compression method was “normal map” but we want to use the other channels for additional data.
