Description
Atmosphaera contains a blueprint you can drag into your scene to add an atmosphere to a chosen actor. The atmosphere itself is a post process material with various settings exposed to you in the blueprint, ranging from its altitude, the planet’s radius and falloff to physical properties and color parameters. In the blueprint, you can switch between the raw and optimized materials (both are mostly visually identical, but the optimized material is 10-15x faster). Since the optimized material uses a lookup table instead of calculating the optical depth, it only takes ~0,7 ms to render on an RTX 3060, meaning that using this material will have a minimal effect (virtually none) on your performance budget. Even when using the raw material, you can tweak the respective sample counts to expedite it and keep a balance between quality and speed. Therefore, speed, physically based techniques used to render the atmosphere and support for pre-4.27 versions make this product a perfect fit for anyone looking for a fast and realistic atmosphere that allows one to be viewed from the ground as well as outer space with an entirely seamless transition. You can watch the showcase video above to see the features. It shows the example level where the atmosphere is applied to a low-poly planet.
